CONECIT 2017: Conferences, Workshops and Jungle Tours

The CONECIT 2017 Conference was held in UNAS, Tingo Maria on 14 -18 August, and the feedback from the majority of attendees so far has been positive. The committee was conformed by 76 students as organizers, with Isai Ventura and Fatima Rouillon as chiefs of staff committee.

The CONECIT 2017 Conference received 7 international professionals to do a talk in IT, including consulting in Linux with “Maddog”. There were also thirteen Peruvian Professionals invited to share experiences with the students from different universities in Peru. Workshops and contests were also part of this edition of CONECIT.

I arrived on Sunday 13 to refine my presentation carefully and quietly prepare myself to my first KeyNote ever… The unexpected cancellation of the flight of Ignacio from IEEE Mexico (because of bad weather) made me be in charge of the opening session about HPC (High Performance Computing) where I highlighted the importance of Linux in this matter. I also emphasize all the subjects related, not only programming, also math and physics are important in this topic. Some pictures of the inaugural session: One of the most awaited presentation was the presentation of MadDog, he exerted our students to not only received what the university offers, we must be self-learning and he encourage us to use Linux in our projects and of course, in our lives. He kindly accepted to take a picture with every single student who was in line waiting for him! 🙂Workshops and contests were also part of the event during the week and thanks the organizers to support the presentation of our local team from Lima Fedora + GNOME 🙂 We were doing some tests since the previous day and two hours before the Fedora + GNOME workshop. It was nice to see students and teachers of universities so interested in learning Linux 😀
Contest of programming, Arduino, Robotics, Start ups as well as football competition took place mostly at night after conferences.  UNI and UNAC were the winners 2017:Peruvian jungle has a variety of delicious food and all the speakers enjoy not only exquisite plates, it was definitely enjoy exotic drinks offered by downtown restaurants and bars:
Adventure and amazing nature is synonym of the Peruvian Jungle, here in Tingo Maria, I visited places such as Oilbird Cave, Tree of wishes, National Parks, Sleeping Beauty, Lagoon of Miracles, The Love Tree, and the Sulfurous Waters 😀Finally, all the magic could not happen without the support and love of friends! Thanks to our local team from Lima Fedora + GNOME, friends of Pucallpa and the new ones too! Hope to see you soon in Linux related projects! 😉Gracias Totales :v
