Thanks to Alvaro and Martin, guys that belong to Hackspace Peru for the support of the outstanding camp event that will promote the use of FEDORA 23 and GNOME 3.18.
After many years of spreading the Linux word through the GNOME and FEDORA project, it was hard to engage and keep new GNOME-FEDORA users. Even worse, there were no new Peruvian developers in the picture. I blame myself for not realising the reasons of this phenomenon. First, I admit that I am not an active developer of neither GNOME or FEDORA. Secondly, I did not offer a training to guide newbies into the GNOME or FEDORA world (A one day conference is not enough). Finally, there was no gentle transition from Windows to Linux.
So, at this time we are planning to to do first a workshop to install a dual boot, so they newbies can try either Windows or Linux when they decide. Then we are going to select our first group carefully, 35 new enthusiastic developers that might be self sufficient when they have to face Linux troubleshooting. And last but not least we are going to celebrate previous sessions to get ready for the core three-days in a favourable environment as it is a camp in a Club located in Chosica. Besides, the organization, I am going to be directly involved in coding.
I am so glad to have found these valuable people! 😀 😀
