When things end, you remember how it all began…
It seems yesterday when I saw my name published in the accepted participants Outreach Program for Women, tears of joy came to my eyes immediately. It was just a magic geeky dream… I was involved in the free software world doing some researches in Unix because of my Master course in Computer Science, and writing some other experiments for my students in Networking labs, besides all the activities in communities of Free Software and Open Source. But, I have never imagined being part of a huge worldwide project like GNOME <3.
Since I started in GNOME, people made me feel welcomed and I have received any kind of support during my participation (comments, travels, hack-fest, Desktop Summit, writings), and memories that are now part of myself because my mentor not only guide me in the writing job, Phil was a model of working for ‘the reason’, for what you think is good for everyone, taught me trough himself the philosophy and the essential thing of Free Software.
Most of the time I was writing about Cheese, but I also did some commits for the Desktop General Help, I did some reviews in the Evolution docs, and lately, I did some topics for the Disk Usage Analyzer.
I know that GNOME is a great organization with awesome people, and there is still a lot of work to be done; so I decided to give them at least a couple of hours everyday to complete some ideas I have to improve my job, i.e. screencasts or videos that show the apps on line.
I would like to thank many many GNOME people; but I think my better way to express grateful is doing a good job. So, I will strive constantly to achieve it!
Auf Wiedersehen GNOME Planet!!! n.n
